NEW DELHI:
India is holding discussions with both Russia and Ukraine as part of efforts to contribute to the search for a resolution to the ongoing conflict, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said.
Jaishankar said India’s engagement had moved beyond merely advocating dialogue and involved discussions on practical issues linked to the conflict. These include the safety of Black Sea shipping, grain and energy supplies and possibilities relating to preventing further attacks.
India has maintained contacts with both Moscow and Kyiv while calling for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the conflict.
The latest remarks indicate New Delhi’s continuing effort to remain engaged with both sides while protecting its broader strategic and economic interests.
