The untitled film starring Jayaram and Simran has commenced production, marking the first time the two actors are coming together as lead pair.
The film is directed by SY Gauthamraj, known for Raatchasi and Kazhuvethi Moorkkan. The project was announced in August and brings Jayaram and Simran together again after their earlier collaboration in Kamal Haasan and KS Ravikumar’s Panchathanthiram (2002), in which they were part of the ensemble cast.
The film also stars Ponvel, known for Vaazhai, along with Devika Sathish, Bhagavathi Perumal (Bucks) and Adithya Kathir.
Produced by K Vijay Pandi of White Carpet Films and Shanjan G of Redacted Studios, the film is being presented by actor Arya’s The Show People banner.
Billed as a romantic comedy entertainer, the film revolves around interactions between the Gen Z and 1990s generations. The makers say the contrasting perspectives and situations arising from these interactions form the central theme of the story.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Deepak, composer Achu Rajamani, art director Mahendran and editor Arul E Siddharth.
Jayaram has had three releases this year — Kara, Parimala and Co and GDN. Simran was last seen alongside Sasikumar in Tourist Family (2025) and will next appear with Rajinikanth in Dharman.
Gauthamraj’s previous directorial was the 2023 Arulnithi-starrer Kazhuvethi Moorkkan.
