The Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha-starrer 96 is set to re-release in theatres on October 9.
Directed by C Prem Kumar, the 2018 romantic drama revolves around Ram and Jaanu, played by Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, respectively. The film follows their reunion at a school reunion after several years and explores their memories, love and unresolved emotions.
96 was produced by S Nandagopal under the Madras Enterprises banner. Govind Vasantha composed the music, while Mahendran Jayaraju and N Shanmuga Sundaram handled the cinematography. The film was edited by R Govindaraj.
The film also features Adithya Bhaskar and Gouri G Kishan as the younger versions of Ram and Jaanu, along with Bagavathi Perumal, Devadarshini, Aadukalam Murugadoss and Varsha Bollamma in supporting roles.
The film’s music, particularly songs such as Kaathale Kaathale and The Life of Ram, became popular among audiences. The film went on to develop a strong following for its emotional treatment of love, separation and nostalgia.
The October 9 re-release will give audiences another opportunity to experience 96 on the big screen.
