The official trailer of Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 has been released by the makers. Written and directed by Nelson, the action entertainer is scheduled to hit theatres on October 15.
The trailer opens with Dileep (Suraj Venjaramoodu) questioning his henchman about the whereabouts of âTigerâ Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth), who brought down an idol smuggling group in Jailer (2023). The syndicate, known as Kalpaks, is controlled by a group of people operating from the shadows. Muthuvelâs investigation eventually takes him closer to the powerful figures behind the network, setting the stage for another high-stakes battle.
The trailer also officially confirms the casting of Mithun Chakraborty, along with the return of Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar from the first film.
The cast includes Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa Menon, Yogi Babu, Jatin Sarna, Tamizh, Ramachandran Durairaj, Jaffer Saadiq, Bagavathi Perumal, Meghana Raj Sarja and Bjorn Surrao, among others.
Anirudh has composed the music for the film, with the complete soundtrack released alongside a rave event held recently in Chennai. Vijay Kartik Kannan is the cinematographer, R Nirmal is the editor, Drk Kiran is the art director and Chethan DâSouza has choreographed the action sequences.
