Chennai,  Oct 6::
The University of Western Australia (UWA) has received final approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to operate its international branch campus in Chennai. The 70,000 sq ft campus at One National Park, Velachery, will begin orientation on October 5, with classes scheduled to commence on October 19.
UWA Chennai will offer undergraduate programmes in business management, computer science, data science and artificial intelligence, besides postgraduate programmes in Information Technology and MBA. The campus is part of UWA’s AUD 80 million long-term investment in wholly owned campuses in India, following the opening of its Mumbai campus in September.
UWA said the Chennai campus would provide students access to Australian education and its global academic and industry network, while strengthening educational and industry ties between Tamil Nadu and Western Australia.
