New Delhi, Oct 7:
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has returned to the Delhi Capitals setup as head coach ahead of the 2027 Indian Premier League season.
Ganguly, one of India’s most successful captains, will take charge of the franchise as it prepares for another IPL campaign. His appointment brings back a familiar figure with extensive experience in both international cricket and the IPL.
Ganguly’s leadership credentials include transforming India’s approach to overseas cricket during his captaincy. His return to a coaching role is expected to bring a strong emphasis on player development, team culture and tactical planning.
Delhi Capitals have yet to win an IPL title despite reaching the final in 2020. The franchise will hope Ganguly can provide the direction needed to convert its considerable talent into sustained success.
His appointment also adds another major chapter to Ganguly’s association with the IPL after his earlier administrative and team-management roles in the competition.
