Chennai, Oct 8:
Special camps to enrol eligible voters who are not on the electoral roll and young and first-time voters will be held at all 4,079 polling station centres in Chennai on October 10 and 11.
The camps will be conducted from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday across all 16 Assembly constituencies in the Chennai election district. The initiative has been taken following instructions from the Election Commission of India to facilitate the enrolment of eligible voters left out of the electoral roll and those registering for the first time.
Eligible voters who have not found their names in the electoral roll and young or first-time voters who are eligible to register have been asked to visit the special camps with the required documents and submit their applications for enrolment.
The camps are part of a wider special enrolment drive in Tamil Nadu, with special attention being given to young and first-time voters in urban areas and major cities.
