Dubai, Oct 13:
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is reportedly being moved between heavily guarded palaces equipped with bunkers amid escalating Houthi attacks on the kingdom.
The 41-year-old Crown Prince has not appeared in public since donating blood at a national drive last Tuesday. Officials familiar with his movements said he is being protected by a specially selected security team as regional tensions intensify.
Saudi Arabia faced a major attack on Saturday when a Houthi missile struck an international airport in Riyadh, reportedly killing at least 13 people and injuring around 300. King Khalid International Airport has remained closed following the attack.
Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman warned that the kingdomās response would be equally serious. US President Donald Trump is also considering joining Saudi strikes against the Iran-backed Houthis.
The conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis began in 2015, when Riyadh intervened in Yemenās civil war. A fragile ceasefire agreed in 2022 collapsed in July this year, amid escalating regional hostilities.
