Chennai, Oct 16:

The Tamil Nadu government has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the Madras High Court’s order quashing the charge sheet against three persons, including the parents of a woman, in connection with the alleged honour killing of Kavin in Tirunelveli last year.

The state government’s appeal seeks to challenge the High Court’s decision to set aside the charge sheet filed against the three accused. The case concerns the killing of Kavin, a young man who was allegedly murdered in an honour killing incident in Tirunelveli district.

The High Court’s order had resulted in the charges against the three persons being quashed. Challenging the order, the Tamil Nadu government has now approached the Supreme Court, seeking judicial intervention in the matter.

The Supreme Court will consider the state’s challenge in accordance with the legal proceedings. Further details regarding the grounds raised in the appeal and the next hearing are awaited.
