Mumbai, Oct 16:
Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc’s participation in IPL 2027 remains uncertain as Cricket Australia prepares for a packed international schedule, including the 150th Anniversary Test against England and the Ashes series.
Starc said discussions over his availability were ongoing, with no final decision taken. Australia coach Andrew McDonald said the IPL offers valuable T20 experience but stressed the need to balance franchise commitments with workload management, particularly for fast bowlers.
Australia’s schedule also includes a potential World Test Championship final and an upcoming World Cup. McDonald said the coaching and medical teams were prioritising recovery and fitness to ensure fast bowlers could handle a demanding run of international matches.
Starc, who was signed by Delhi Capitals for ₹11.75 crore, played only six matches in IPL 2026 due to injury concerns.
