Moscow:
Russia launched fresh attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure using ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday.
He complained that Ukraine had received no early warning from partner countries that had previously shared intelligence about Russian attacks.
The strikes damaged energy facilities and disrupted electricity, heating and water supplies, affecting more than half a million people, according to reports.
A 21-year-old woman was killed near Kyiv. The attacks have renewed concerns over Ukraine’s ability to protect critical infrastructure amid shortages of air defence systems.
