Actor Vijay’s 2005 blockbuster Thirupaachi is set to return to theatres on December 25, according to reports. The film, directed by Perarasu, was earlier scheduled for a re-release on October 1, but the plan was postponed.
Produced by RB Choudary under the Super Good Films banner, the action drama featured Vijay and Trisha in the lead roles, alongside Pasupathy, Mallika and Kota Srinivasa Rao. The film, released during the Pongal festival in 2005, emerged as a major commercial success.
The story follows a protective elder brother who travels from Thirupaachi to Chennai to safeguard his sister and her husband from local rowdies. The film’s brother-sister sentiment, action sequences and music contributed to its popularity among audiences. The December 25 re-release is expected to give fans another opportunity to experience the Vijay-starrer on the big screen.
