Dubai:
Saudi Arabia’s newly appointed envoy to Pakistan, Rajeh Tami Albugamy, met Pakistan Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in Rawalpindi on Monday to discuss regional security and bilateral cooperation.
According to Pakistan’s military, both sides expressed satisfaction over progress under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and stressed the need to strengthen defence cooperation and strategic coordination.
The meeting comes amid rising regional tensions following attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement on Saudi Arabia. Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye signed the defence agreement in August, providing for mutual support in the event of an attack on any of the participating countries.
