Actor Sasikumar has begun work on his next Tamil film, written and directed by Kannada filmmaker Hari Santhosh, marking the latter’s directorial debut in Tamil cinema. The makers announced the commencement of production following a traditional pooja ceremony on Tuesday.
The yet-to-be-titled film is the 22nd production venture of Trident Arts, the banner that previously backed Sasikumar’s Vetrivel and Ayothi. Hari Santhosh is known for his Kannada films, including Alemari, Victory 2 and By Two Love. His earlier bilingual venture College Kumar also connected him with Tamil cinema. The new project brings together the filmmaker and Sasikumar for a fresh collaboration, though the makers have kept the storyline under wraps.
The supporting cast includes Narain, Anjali Nair, Swasika, Nandita Swetha, Harishankar Narayanan, Hareesh Peradi, PL Thenappan, Shalini Saroj and Jasmine Kaur. Ravindran is producing the film under Trident Arts in association with Chetan Deolekar of 6 Dimensons Film and Media. Krish K Nagrecha is co-producing, while Sanjay Vijayaraghavan serves as creative producer. Ghibran is composing the music, Aravinnd Singh handles cinematography, San Lokesh is the editor and G Durairaj is the art director. Action choreography is by Abishek Srinivas. The title, plot details and release date are yet to be revealed. Sasikumar’s upcoming projects also include Freedom and a film with Yaathisai director Dharani Rasendran.
