Chennai, October 24
Bajaj General Insurance Limited, formerly known as Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited, has appointed Deepak Reddy as CEO Designate with effect from January 1, 2027. He will take over as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from April 1, 2027, subject to approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Dr. Tapan Singhel, the companyâs current MD and CEO, will continue in the position until March 31, 2027, ensuring a smooth leadership transition. The appointment was approved by the companyâs Board of Directors. Bajaj General Insurance is a material unlisted subsidiary of Bajaj Finserv Limited.
Announcing the leadership transition, Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Finserv, praised Singhelâs contribution to building the insurance company into a leading player in the industry. He said Singhel had played a defining role in the companyâs evolution from a joint venture into a wholly Bajaj-owned entity, establishing a reputation for underwriting discipline, innovation and customer focus.
Bajaj thanked Singhel for his leadership and lasting contribution to the company and the Indian insurance sector. He also expressed confidence that Reddy would build on the foundation laid by Singhel and his team, explore new growth opportunities and lead the insurer into its next phase of development.
