Heavy rain has prompted authorities to declare a holiday for schools in four districts of Tamil Nadu on Monday, October 26, as the northeast monsoon intensifies across the State.
Schools in Dindigul and Ramanathapuram districts will remain closed for the day due to heavy rain warnings. Coimbatore district has also announced a holiday for schools in view of continued rainfall and waterlogging.
In the Nilgiris district, schools in Udhagamandalam, Coonoor, Kotagiri and Kundah taluks will remain closed due to persistent heavy rain. Colleges in the district will function as usual.
Meanwhile, schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal have also been declared closed for the day as a precautionary measure amid the prevailing weather conditions.
