Chennai, Oct 26:
A 37-year-old history-sheeter was arrested by the West Zone Anti-Rowdy Squad police for posting social media reels threatening to avenge his brother’s murder by killing two rowdies.
The accused, Ruben of Pulianthope, has 21 cases pending against him, including three murder cases, two attempted murder cases and two attempted ATM robberies.
Police said that in 2020, history-sheeter Ramesh alias Dog Ramesh of Kavangarai was murdered by rowdies Garden Sarath and Abinesh. After the duo came out of prison, Ruben allegedly posted reels threatening to kill them, warning that they would soon be attacked. The videos reportedly mimicked television crime reports. Acting on the information, police arrested Ruben and are preparing to produce him before a court.
