Hyderabad: A 38-year-old man was today arrested here on the charge of possessing and selling cocaine, Deputy Commissioner of Excise Department C Vivekananda Reddy said.

Abdul Hameed of Adilabad district, running a travels agency, was caught while selling the drug, he said.

A total of 31 gm of cocaine and Rs 7 lakh in cash besides a car were seized from Hameed and a case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Reddy told PTI.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Hameed, while making trips to Goa, had established contact with a drug smuggler who gave the former a list of customers in Hyderabad and offered him Rs 2,000 as commission for sale of one gm of cocaine that cost Rs 6,000, the official said.
