The food outlet in Chennai, Ciclo Cafe, recently launched an online food delivery facility, Ciclo Life, specially for healthy salads and cold pressed juices. In an interview to News Today, the founder of the restaurant, Ashish R Thadani, talks about his new venture and more.
Q: What do we need to know about Ciclo Life?
A: Ciclo Life was started to give people healthy eating options while not compromising on the taste. We call it smartfood, as it allows people to eat healthy with the added convenience of getting the food delivered right at their doorstep. We are starting off with salads and juices for now but will soon expand to include other healthy options.
Q: How healthy is the preparation process?
A: Our ingredients are sourced from the best suppliers and are preservative-free. We do not us anything frozen and our salads are prepared fresh every day. We are currently researching more environment-friendly packaging options and will be changing over soon. We currently have an option on our website of opting out of cutlery.
Q: While there are a number of online food delivery streams, what is your speciality?
A: Smartfood, Quickly – We take special care to ensure all our ingredients are fresh and have an element of health tied to it. The variety of salads we offer like millet salad, summer salad, three ‘C’ salad (cucumber, corn and carrot), prawn caeser, barley legal, pineapple express and many more, is also something that sets us apart in the current market. And people’s response is also positive on the whole. We look forward to many more deliveries and happy customers.
Q: In the culture of fast food and junk food, do you think ‘health’ is lost in people’s food habits?
A: We believe everything in moderation is good. While it is alright to indulge in junk once in a while, people should avoid processed food on an regular basis. Our salads are a meal in themselves and are a convenient way of incorporating something healthy into your everyday routine.
