Rajini in Aboorva Raagangal

For Superstar Rajinikanth, with just one day to go for the release of his magnum opus 2.0, it’s almost like re-living the phase of his life when he awaited the release of his debut flick Aboorva Raagangal. The Tamil actor, while speaking at the Telugu pre-release event of 2.0, was in an emotional state Monday evening.

Rajinikanth said, “After my debut film, Aboorva Raagangal, I’m excited and nervous about 2.0 because, in this film, almost 40-45 per cent is filled with visual effects and, being an actor, I’m eagerly looking forward to watching my own work.”

Rajinikanth said he struggled a lot in the first part (Enthiran), but the sequel was quite easy. “The only difficulty is that my health was not okay during the climax portions,” added Rajinikanth.

“The film 2.0 will be the pride of Indian cinema. The film has a strong storyline and, technically, we have created a new standard,” said the actor who also heaped praise on his producer Subaskaran for funding the film at a humongous budget and appreciated director Shankar for his vision and hard work.

Rajini in 2.0

The movie’s antagonist Akshay Kumar said, “Acting in 2.0 was like going to school and I learned new things. If 2.0 sets is a school, Shankar sir is my principal. Trust me, I have been in the industry for 28 years, but things which I learned in 2.0 were never taught to me before. I thank Shankar sir for the opportunity.”

Talking about Rajinikanth, the Pad-Man actor said, “If you give him one simple line, he will make magic out of it. I feel honoured to get punched by Rajini sir.”

Akshay said he hasn’t seen the film yet and was eagerly waiting to watch it on the big screen. “I was on a liquid diet for 2.0 with heavy makeup; the only difficult thing for me while shooting was to sit patiently for three hours to get into my special look,” said Akshay.

Rajini’s 2.0 is all set to release 29 November (Thursday) and advance booking in major theatres is in full swing.
