Chennai: Online marketplace for pre-owned goods, OLX, has announced its offline pre-owned car selling initiative – Cash My Car. Users now have the option of selling a pre-owned car directly on the online of offline platforms.
The initiative is a joint venture with Frontier Car Group (FCG) that builds and operates pre-owned automotive marketplaces within emerging markets. Under the agreement, OLX and FCG will share technological resources, expertise and knowledge to build and operate OLX Cash My Car stores across cities in India.
Onwers who wish to sell their cars can do so in under 45 minutes, OLX claims, with all paperwork and transfer of RC and other documents being handled for free. It promises car owners immediate cash and channel partners the chance to build up inventory.
Currently, 27 Cash My Car stores are operational across 10 cities – New Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai. Plans are afoot to aggressively expand the store footprint to 150 by end of 2021 across 40 cities.
