Metropolitan Transport Corporation on Monday felicitated the crew of a bus starting from Anna Nagar (West) bus depot for handing over a passenger’s bag containing Rs 2.47 lakh in cash to the police.
MTC officials said the crew started from Anna Nagar (West) bus depot and continued operations along their scheduled route (Red Hills Bus Terminus to Vandalur Zoo).
Around 11 pm, conductor Syed Ismail found a bag in one of the rear end seats. He immediately alerted the driver, Dilli. When they opened it, they were shocked to find out a bunch of currency notes.
Soon after the day’s work, they arrived at the Thirumangalam police station and informed them about it and handed over the bag to them. Appreciating their honesty, a felicitation programme was organised for the duo.
