Nanganallur in Chennai gears up for Margazhi music season

Nanganallur is gearing up for Margazhi music season as various sabhas and music halls across the neighbourhood have started to celebrate the spirit of music. News Today brings you a compilation of major clubs where several events will be held.

Valayapatti Kaashyap Naadhalaya in association with Sri Guruvayoorappan Asthiga Samajam will be conducting its 24th music festival between 16 and 22 December at No. 21, Ram Nagar 2nd Main Road, Nanganallur.

The guests for the inaugural event are MLA H Vasanthakumar, T K Ramachandran, Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions director Abhay Meganathan and Guruvayoorappan Asthika Samajam president K Sundararajan.

The guests for the valedictory function are Nalli Kuppusami Chetty, Cleveland V V Sundaram, former TCS VP K Jayaramakrishnan, Nithyashree Mahadevan and Guruvayoorappan Asthika Samajam secretary R Vaidhyanathan.

Sree Sathsanga Papanasam Sivan Karnataka Sangeetha Sabha, Madipakkam, will celebrate music festival for 15 days from 2 January, at Sathsangam Street, Madipakkam.

The sabha will felicitate mridangam vidwan Mannargudi A Easwaran with ‘Sree Sathsanga Papanasam Sivan Award’ which carries a shawl, citation and a cheque.

Neighbourhood mridangam artiste Madipakkam A Murali will be performing in various sabhas in the city till 5 January 2019. Nanganallur Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Samajam, Nanganallur, will be conducting its December Music Festival between 25 and 29 December and also on 25 January daily from 6.15 pm onwards at Ranjani Hall, No. 7, 15th Street, Nanganallur.

On 25 December, Kashyap Mahesh, R Ragul, N S Kalyana Raman and Madipakkam Gopalakrishnan will be performing. On 26 December, R Aswath Narayanan, B Ananthakrishnan, Sai Giridhar and Madipakkam Murali will be performing.

On 27 December, it will be Malavika Sundar, V L Kumar, Madipakkam Suresh and Madipakkam Murali. On 28 December, Vignesh Eswar, M S Ananthakrishnan, N C Bharadwaj and H Sivaramakrishnan will be performing. On 29 December, Sangeetha Swaminathan, M R Gopinath, Poongulam Subramanian and Adambakkam Shankar will be performing.

Finally, on 25 January, Usha Padmanabhan, Melakkaveri Thyagarajan and Guru Raghavendra will be performing. For details, contact 9841599480.
