Vishnuu Vishal knows the knack of choosing his scripts. After a serious outing in Ratsasan, he is out with a light-hearted fare Silukkuvarpatti Singam.
Directed by Chella, the movie is aimed at giving audience a good laugh. More like his earlier hit Velainu Vandhutta Velaikkaran, the movie is loaded with funny moments and a battery of comedian appear on screen to bring the roof down with laughter.
Sakthi plays a constable who runs away from tough situations. What happens when a dreaded gangster crosses his path forms the crux.
Sathyamoorthy aka Sakthi (Vishnuu Vishal) is is a happy-go-lucky constable. He falls for Regina Cassandra. Meanwhile Cycle Shankar (Sai Ravi), a ruthless gangster, who escapes from police in Chennai enters the village where Sakthi lives. He has a mission to accomplish. He is entrusted with the job of murdering an ex-minister (Mansoor Ali Khan). But situation leads him to clash with Sakthi. A trivial incidents sparks off enmity between the two. Shankar vows to murder Sakthi. What happens then forms the rest.
Vishnu Vishal as Sathyamoorthy excels. He throws a lot of energy and confidently holds the film together. His comedy timing and dance moves are crowd pleasing. Regina is cute and bubbly.
Anandhraj, Mansoor Ali Khan, Livingston, Karunakaran, Lollu Sabha Manohar play interesting characters and end up bringing laughter with their antics.
But the scene-stealer is Yogi Babu as Tony. His one-liners are catchy. He is right there making you laugh louder. More like a Sundar C, the situation comedies work out well. And there is a reference to Rajinikanth’s Baasha as well towards the end. Silukkuvarpatti Singam is a clean entertainer and those who want some fun can watch.
