Munnar: Kerala was ravaged by the floods in August and its tourism sector had faced the brunt. Munnar has been revived once again, thanks to the unexpected chilly weather and snow.

For the last few days, the hill station has been experiencing minus degree Celsius, and has been covered with a blanket of snow. This has wooed a large number of tourists.

According to a local weather report, On Tuesday, it was -2 degree Celsius at the tea plantations and zero degree Celsius at the town area. It is not very often that such frozen climate lasts for over a week. The weather has renewed Kerala Tourism, which updated its Twitter handle with information and photos of the cool weather.

However, the unexpected snowfall has caused extensive damage to tea plants in the hill station, said a local report.
