Priest in TN gravely injured after falling from elevated platform

The Namakkal Anjaneyar temple

Namakkal: Venkatesh, a 53-year-old temple priest fell down from a 11-feet elevated platform while performing puja to the famous 18-feet high Lord Hanuman temple in Namakkal on Monday.

According to reports, the priest lost balance after garlanding the idol and suffered head injuries and he was later admitted to a hospital in Salem.

Venkatesh, who was not a priest the temple, was there to assist his brother Nagarajan during the puja, added the reports.

The hospital reports claimed that he suffered a hemorrhage and an emergency surgical procedure was done to drain the blood in his brain and his condition was very critical.
