Chennai: Senior AIADMK leader C Ponnaiyan today said his party is not ready to forge an alliance with the BJP. Addressing mediapersons, he said, BJP is not the same as it was five years ago. “In these past five years, BJP has done more harm to the State than good,” he added.

He said the AIADMK cadres are not happy with BJP over various issues like NEET, GST, Mekedatu and Gaja cyclone relief. He also stated that the executive committee, coordinator O Panneerselvam (Deputy Chief Minister) and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami (Chief Minister) will take a decision on alliance at an appropriate time.

It may be noted that the AIADMK on Wednesday invited applications from aspiring candidates for all 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in the State and the lone Puducherry seat.
