Hyderabad: The NDA government has misused CBI and the actions of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is undemocratic said Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary S Sudhakar Reddy on Monday.
In its statement, the CPI said central agencies like CBI, ED and IT departments have been misused by the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre to target political opponents and that the response by Mamata Banerjee to protect Saradha Chit Fund Scam accused was undemocratic and this has put the country in a civil war-like situation.
Reddy said the Centre should take up responsibility and resolve the issue and save democracy. He also added that the Saradha scam was very big and a transparent and independent investigation was necessary to bring out the truth.
