It is not hard to see people doing service of one kind or another these days. Scrolling through social media will reveal many people who do social service. However, it is difficult to find youngsters in the field.
Anusha P Sarathy, a resident of Periyar Road at Avvai Nagar in Vadapalani, Chennai, was honoured recently for being the youngest school correspondent with a service-minded attitude.
She received the award from Anna Nagar MLA M K Mohan at an event organised by CVMWA welfare organisation. Member of Parliament, S R Vijayakumar, was present at the event.
Speaking to News Today, Anusha, who is the correspondent of National Star Nursery and Primary School, said her institution was launched 40 years back and that she and her father took over the reigns 10 years back.
“My vision is to give quality education apart from imparting discipline and good health practices among students. With this in mind, I launched a medical laboratory which has three doctors working towards providing free health check-up for our students and staff,” said Anusha.
She added that her wish is to empower women and work for the uplift of the economically-weaker sections of society.
