Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam met and appreciated Anna Nagar’s three-year-old cricketing prodigy, Sanush Suryadev on Monday. Nicknamed Junior MSD, Sanush’s name was added to India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records recently.

News Today featured an article on Sanush in June 2018 after he was crowned the ‘Youngest child cricketer’ by India Book of Records and ‘Professional child cricketer’ by Asia Book of Records.

To truly understand Sanush’s cricketing talent, one only has to google his name. There are plenty of videos uploaded by his father Murugan Raj on YouTube where we can see the three-year-old playing textbook cricketing shots with perfect poise.

Murugan Raj says that Sanush had already picked up a cricket bat and started hitting balls by age one when most kids start walking!

Sanush’s most prized possession is a photo of him kissing Dhoni on the cheeks. Murugan Raj says, “CSK team’s famous fan Saravanan who is seen at all Chennai matches with body covered in yellow paint, filmed Sanush playing cricket and uploaded it on social media. It went viral.”

This came under Dhoni’s eyes and the world cup winning captain was impressed by Sanush’s talent. “Dhoni himself made it a point to meet him when he was in Chennai for IPL. It’s a happy coincidence that Sanush, born 7 July, shares his birthday with MSD,” says Murugan.

Sanush’s mother Subathra who is a child psychologist says that her child’s knowledge goes beyond cricket. Even at this young age, Sanush is updated with current affairs. When we asked him about the Sterlite issue, he was able to talk about the shootings and why it happened. Subathra says that children learn more and better when they absorb things through exposure and experience.
