Puducherry: K Venkatesan, who is DMK nominee, and P Nedunchezhian an AINRC candidate filed nominations to the Thattanchavady assembly seat for the coming 18 April by-election.
The sitting legislator Ashok Anand of AINRC was disqualified after he was convicted by a CBI court in a disproportionate assets case last year.
So the by-election, which would be simultaneously held with the lone Lok Sabha seat, was necessitated because of this. Today is the last date for filing nominations.
