Chennai: Vehicular movement is on the rise with each passing day in Ambattur, Chennai, and with poor driving methods and knowledge of road manners, accidents are plentiful as well, state residents.
Adding to the issue is the lack of zebra crossing, they say.
“Yes, there are pedestrians who scamper about from one side to another as they please. But not everyone is like that, just like not every motorist is bad. People need to know where they can cross the road and that is where zebra crossings play a big role. When officials laid new roads, they seem to have forgotten about the fact that lane markings and zebra crossings are essential. Hopefully, they will be painted soon, for added safety,” said Dinesh, a commuter.
