Chennai: A man has been arrested for threatening a wine shop employee at knife-point at CMBT last night.
According to the police, Balamurugan (28), a native of Pudukottai, worked at a Tasmac shop at Koyambedu.
Last night, he was walking near New Colony junction at 12 midnight when a man stopped him on the road, asking him to part with his money.
When Balamurugan refused to give in, he brandished a knife and began threatening him. When the man snatched Rs 700 from his pocket and began running, Balamurgan raised an alarm and chased him.
People on the road joined him in the chase and caught the man. The police arrived at the spot and identified him as Prabhakaran (26). Based on a complaint from Balamurugan, the culprit was arrested and subsequently remanded. The CMBT police registered a case.
