Chennai: CD Jinan of TVS Racing had a great start to the year by winning the opening round of the MRF MoGrip FMSCI National Supercross championship at the Codissia grounds, Coimbatore recently.
The 44-year-old from Kerala returned to the team after 11 years and finished on top in two races to clinch the foreign open class in style. With heavy rain playing spoilsport on the eve of the race day, the length of the track was reduced. More than 200 riders competed in the circuit. CD Jinan did not enjoy a great start and he was given a tough fight by Pramod Joswa, but despite the challenge, Jina took the lead and finished the race comfortably. AW Tanveer of TVS Racing finished second.
Defending champion Harith Noah did not participate in the race as he suffered a shoulder injury. In the Indian expert Group C, Kalimohan of TVS blasted his way to lead at the start of the race but suffered a crash. Despite that, he brought out his skill to take a lead again to finish the race in top of the podium. Karan had great skills to complete the race at the top of the podium in Novice Group C.
In Local Group C, Vikram Sekhar,a private rider suffered an injury in his lower jaw and had to be treated with eight stitches. He, however, continued to ride in the heats of the Indian Expert Group C, where he discontinued unable to ride anymore.
Young Tamilnadu rider Sujan.S was the attraction for the day as he became the youngest rider from the state to participate in the tournament aged eight. Jordan gillies and Shaun Webb from Australia were the overseas riders to participate in Free-Style Motocross FMX.

Novice Group C: 1. M. Karan Kumar; 2. K. Saravana Kumar (both Coimbatore); 3. R.E. Rajendra (TVS Racing).
Indian Expert Group C . Kalimohan (TVS Racing); 2. S. Asaraddin; 3. Varun Kumar (both Coimbatore).
