Hyderabad: MLA from Munugode Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy of the Telangana Congress yesterday said he was disappointed with the party affairs in the State and across the country.
His statements has fueled speculation that he may jump ship to BJP and it may be a setback for the Congress that is already reeling under crisis after after 12 of its 18 MLAs joined the ruling TRS led by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao.
Rajagopal Reddy said that India would progress under the BJP. He said he would meet his supporters and take a decision in this regard. “The youth are with BJP. The party is the alternative to counter KCR,” he was quoted saying to a media agency. He also hit out at State Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and AICC in charge R C Khuntia, saying that they were not being able to provide effective leadership to fight TRS.
Meanwhile, State BJP president K Laxman said whoever wanted to join the BJP and strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hands and party president Amit Shah would be welcomed. He further revealed that many leaders were approaching the BJP and their list has been sent to the leadership in Centre to take a decision.
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said, “That is his personal opinion. If anybody thinks BJP will be the alternative, it’s only a myth.”
