While the city has been feeling the acute water shortage pinch from the time summer kicked in, BJP national secretary, H Raja took to Twitter to blame DMK for the crisis.

The tweet posted early this morning at around 8 am, roughly translated, read, “Once again I tell that it is the irresponsible regime of DMK since the time they formed government in 1967 has led to water shortage. The water bodies have been destroyed not just in Chennai, but in the entire Tamilnadu. Madurai branch of Madras High Court is located on a water body. Shameful.”

Hours later, he once again took to the microblogging platform to express how media has been spreading the agenda of DMK while Varuna japa is being performed.
“Following the Varuna japa, Chennai and Tamilnadu witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall, meanwhile the measures to peddle the agenda of DMK by media outlets hurt the Hindu sentiments and is condemnable,’ the national secretary tweeted.
It may be noted that Puducherry Governor Kiran Bedi, on Monday, had also blamed the poor governance, corrupt politics, indifferent bureaucracy with highly selfish and cowardly attitude of the people to the situation. Reacting to the strong comments, DMK president M K Stalin demanded an apology to Tamils.
During the first Assembly session, the DMK, led by Stalin, walked out when they were declined to raise the issue by Speaker P Dhanapal.
