Chennai: S Muthu Kumar (6/46) bagged a six-wicket haul as Krishnaraj Memorial Club defeated Bhimannapet Recreation Club by 16 runs in a TNCA Third Division ‘A’ match here.

In the first innings, Krishnaraj was bowled out for 257 in 47.5 overs. AH Abul Hakkim (7/74) did most of the damage, taking seven wickets, but his showing was overshadowed by Muthu’s match-winning spell.

Chasing 258, Bhimannapet could muster only 241 courtesy Muthu’s six wickets. In another duel, A Karthik Sankar (5/60) got a five-wicket haul but his effort went in vain as Central United Club lost to Southern Railway SA by a massive 135 runs.

III-DIVISION ‘A’: Falcon CC 104 in 35 overs (G Aravindh 39, Gurjapneet Singh 3/26) lost to Egmore RC 108 for 3 in 23.4 overs (N Niranjan 78*);

Krishnaraj Memorial Club 257 in 47.5 overs (P Manikandan 95, S Prabhu 51, AH Abul Hakkim 7/74) beat Bhimannapet RC 241 in 48.3 overs (D Surendar Doss 60, K Senthamarai 49, S Deepakraja 40, S Muthu Kumar 6/46);

Sir Theagaraya RC 212 for 9 in 50 overs (S Sanjay Shrinivas 44, SJ Krithick 44, M Sarath Kumar 42) lost to Reserve Bank RC 214 for 3 in 41.5 overs (N Lokesh 76, M Lakshminarayanan 48, T Balaji 40);

Southern Railway SA 227 for 9 in 50 overs (R Shri Hari 51, R Adhitya Rishi 39, A Karthik Sankar 5/60) beat Central United Club 92 in 39 overs (Avinash Upadhyay 43, S Suraj 4/23, R Francis Frankfort 3/15).
