Chennai: Four members of Tamilnadu Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan’s family have tested positive for Covid-19. They are- his father-in-law, mother-in-law, wife and son.
All of them are currently undergoing treatment at the Government King’s Institute corona hospital at Guindy in Chennai.
Confirming this in a Twitter message, Radhakrishnan said, “Yes, My father-in-law, Dr Nagarajan, and Mrs Nagarajan tested positive on Friday night. As close family contacts myself, (wife) Krithika and son Arvind got tested at the state public health lab today (Monday). Wife, son tested positive. All are in Government King’s institute corona hospital.”
Radhakrishnan replaced Beela Rajesh as Health Secretary on 12 June, just as the infection had started to spread across the State. It is said that his parents-in-law had arrived from Madurai last week and had undergone test for the infection as a routine exercise.
On Saturday, Radhakrishnan’s parents-in-law and two domestic helps tested positive. And on Monday, his wife and son testes positive. The health condition of all of them are said to be stable. Meanwhile, Radhakrishnan, though he has tested negative, is said to be in isolation at the State guesthouse.
