Kiran Bedi’s book released

Chennai: Former Lt Governor of Puducherry Kiran Bedi released the Tamil translated version of her book ‘Fearless Governance’ and the first copy of the book was received by Mariazeena Johnson, Chancellor of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology. The book deals with Kiran Bedi’s tenure as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and was translated and vetted by Shivani Arora and Sabarinathan, from Puducherry. The royalties from the sale of the book will be donated to two NGOs ‘India Vision’ and ‘Navjyoti India Foundation’. After releasing the book, Kiran Bedi recalled steps taken by her in Puducherry to reclaim water bodies.

“From daily morning meetings with the officers to my insistence on field visits to instituting an Open house for the public, governance was made accountable to the people of Puducherry. I had numerous one-on-one sessions with the members of the Raj Nivas team since I wanted to get to know them personally, as well. Once, one of my team attended a session with me with her baby as she wasn’t able to leave her alone. That was the level of the relationship I was able to have with the people around me,” she said.

“Kiran Bedi has been a legend in whatever she has put her life into. From a champion tennis player to a career in the Indian Police Service to her time as the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, excellence has been her hallmark. Fearless Governance is a book that every Indian should read to understand the process of good governance and how it can be painstakingly achieved”, said Prasanna Vasanadu, Chairperson, FICCI Flo Chennai, in her welcome address.
