Chief Minister M.K. Stalin officially launched ‘Project Nilgiri Tahr’ from the Secretariat in Chennai. This project, with an estimated budget of Rs 25 crore, is set to make a substantial impact on the preservation of the Nilgiri Tahr, a unique and endangered mountain ungulate native to the Western Ghats.
Recognizing the urgent need to conserve and protect this iconic species, the government of Tamil Nadu has initiated ‘Project Nilgiri Tahr’ with a multi-faceted approach.
