Renowned actor Kamal Haasan has successfully completed filming his portions for the Chennai schedule of the much-anticipated Indian 2. The sequel to director Shankar’s 1996 blockbuster has been in the works since its announcement in 2017, overcoming various production hurdles.
Returning to the director’s chair, Shankar has assembled an impressive ensemble cast for Indian 2, including Kajal Aggarwal, Sj Suryah, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, and Samuthirakani, among others.
The filming journey has taken the crew to diverse locations, including Rajahmundry, Bhopal, Gwalior, Johannesburg, and Taiwan. Notably, Kamal Haasan has been multitasking, simultaneously shooting for Indian 3. However, an official confirmation for the third installment in the franchise is still pending from the makers.
Cinematographer Ravi Varman, editor Sreekar Prasad, and music composer Anirudh are contributing their talents to the film. Produced by Lyca Productions, Indian 2 is eagerly awaited by fans, although an official release date is yet to be announced.
