
In a tragic incident, Vetri Duraisamy, the 45-year-old son of former Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy, is reported missing after the vehicle he was traveling in skidded off the road and rolled into the Sutlej in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.
The accident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. near Kashang Nala on National Highway 5 (NH5), resulted in the death of the vehicle’s driver, Tanjeev, a resident of Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti district. Vetri Duraisamy’s friend, who was also in the vehicle, sustained injuries during the unfortunate incident, according to the police.
Naveen Jalta, Kinnaur’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), provided details of the incident, stating that the vehicle was en route from Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti district to Shimla when the accident took place.
As search and rescue operations are underway to locate Vetri Duraisamy, the incident has left the Duraisamy family and their associates anxiously awaiting updates on his well-being. The Himachal Pradesh police are coordinating efforts to find the missing individual, while also attending to the injured friend and dealing with the aftermath of the tragic accident.
