K Annamalai, the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party for nominating Rahul Gandhi as a candidate for the Rae Bareli constituency. In a social media post, Annamalai expressed confidence that the Congress party and its ecosystem would face a rude shock when the results for both Wayanad and Rae Bareli are declared on June 4.
Drawing attention to Rahul Gandhi’s nomination in Rae Bareli, Annamalai criticized the Congress for what he described as “moral decay” within the party. He denounced the decision to announce Rahul Gandhi’s candidacy in Rae Bareli after the polls in Wayanad, accusing the Congress of betraying the trust of voters in the South.
Annamalai emphasized that the Congress should not only be defeated in the South but across the entire nation for its perceived lack of accountability and disregard for voters’ interests.
Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier prediction that Rahul Gandhi would seek a seat in the North after contesting in Wayanad, Annamalai accused the Congress of taking voters for granted and operating without accountability for years.
He highlighted the need for a change in political culture, one that prioritizes accountability and responsiveness to the electorate.
In addition to his critique of the Congress, Annamalai turned his attention to the pressing issue of water scarcity in the state. He urged the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government to take immediate action to address the water scarcity crisis and find a permanent solution.
Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, Annamalai called for the timely completion of stormwater drainage works before the onset of the monsoon season to prevent further hardships for the public
