In a heartfelt statement issued on Tuesday, just ahead of the Lok Sabha poll results being declared, Patali Makkal Katchi (PMK) President S. Ramadoss expressed his disappointment over the party’s performance in the elections. Despite presenting comprehensive plans and promises for the welfare of the people, the PMK did not secure any seats in the Lok Sabha.
Reflecting on the electoral atmosphere in Tamil Nadu, Ramadoss noted a visible discontent among the populace against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). However, he acknowledged that the ruling coalition managed to secure victories across the state, attributing their success to various factors.
“However, in a democracy, the people are the ultimate masters. We bow down and accept their verdict in the Lok Sabha elections. Our party will continue to work to win their support and trust,” Ramadoss stated, emphasizing the importance of respecting the democratic process and the electorate’s decision.
He reiterated that the PMK’s primary duty is to address the issues faced by the people, regardless of electoral outcomes. “PMK has as its primary duty to fight for the problems of the people, regardless of election victory or defeat. The same situation will continue,” he affirmed, underscoring the party’s commitment to public service and advocacy.
In his message, Ramadoss also extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the supporters of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for their triumph in the Lok Sabha elections. He praised their efforts in securing a third term for the NDA government, highlighting the significance of this achievement.
