DVV Entertainment  has teamed up with director Vivek Athreya for their latest film, Surya’s Saturday. Starring Nani in the lead role, this highly anticipated film is set to release worldwide on August 29 in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
Ahead of the release, a press conference was held in Chennai, featuring Nani, actor-director S.J. Suryah, and actresses Priyanka Mohan, Abhirami, and Aditi Balan.
During the event, S.J. Suryah welcomed Nani, saying, “I wholeheartedly welcome Nani, who is already familiar to the Tamil film industry. The family audience here is well-acquainted with him. He is a wonderful actor and a gracious person. In Telugu, he is rightfully called the ‘Natural Star’.”
S.J. Suryah also spoke about actress Abhirami, who became popular with the film Virumaandi. After a brief hiatus, she has returned to acting in films, taking on a significant role in Surya’s Saturday. He expressed his hope that she continues to get more opportunities, stating, “Everything has its time, and when it comes, opportunities start pouring in. This seems to be happening for Abhirami now. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to her.”
Nani, while addressing the audience, expressed his admiration for the Tamil audience, saying, “Every time I visit Tamil Nadu, I am amazed by the love I receive from the people here. I have always enjoyed watching Tamil cinema. The industry boasts many great personalities like Mani sir, Shankar sir, and Bharathiraja sir, to name a few.”
He went on to share his habit of following Tamil audiences’ reviews of his films, saying, “After my films release, I watch YouTube videos to understand the reactions and feedback from Tamil fans, particularly their expressions as they leave the theaters. The love and warmth I receive from fans at Chennai airport, whether it’s taking selfies or inquiring about my well-being, is overwhelming. I want to take this moment to thank all my Tamil fans for their unwavering support and affection.”
Nani also touched on the unique nature of Surya’s Saturday, stating, “This film is special. Generally, today’s audience expects action films to be grand, with nonstop excitement from start to finish. While many such films have been released, we wanted to offer something different—a simple action entertainer akin to what is often seen in Tamil cinema. Surya’s Saturday is exactly that, a straightforward yet engaging action film.”
