The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has announced special bus services for the upcoming weekend and school quarterly exam holidays. With increased travel expected from Chennai and other regions, the Director of the Government Rapid Transport Corporation stated that additional buses will be introduced to accommodate the surge in passengers.On Friday, September 27, 2024, 395 buses will depart from the Chennai Kilambakkam bus terminus to various destinations, including Thiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tirupur. The following day, Saturday, September 28, 2024, 345 buses will operate along the same routes.
In addition to these services, 70 special buses will run to Bengaluru on both Friday and Saturday. A further 200 buses have been scheduled for various other destinations, and special services from Madhavaram will see 20 buses departing each day.
