The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has announced a ₹10 crore renovation project for the Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex. Currently in the tender stage, the project will be completed within eight months after site handover.The renovation includes painting, repairing the compound wall, cycle stand, RO water stand, and market management office. Additionally, high-mast lights and LED floodlights will be installed to improve visibility, and three arches will be constructed.
CMDA is also planning a road repair project around the market, with tenders already in progress. These upgrades aim to enhance infrastructure and improve market facilities for traders and visitors.
