
Actor and director Manoj Bharathi, son of renowned filmmaker Bharathiraja, passed away at the age of 48 due to a sudden cardiac arrest.
Manoj made his acting debut in 1999 with Taj Mahal, directed by his father. He later starred in films like Samuthiram, Kadal Pookkal, Alli Arjuna, and Varushamellam Vasantham. He also played character roles in Pallavan, Eera Nilam, Maha Nadigan, Maanaadu, and Annakodi. His last on-screen appearance was in the 2022 film Viruman. He also directed Margazhi Thingal and worked as an assistant director.
Manoj was married to Malayalam actress Nandana, and they have two daughters. He had undergone heart surgery a few weeks ago and was recovering at his home in Chennaiās Chetpet. However, he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest this evening (March 25) and was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
