Acclaimed director Ram Gopal Varma is set to present his latest film, Saree, a psychological thriller directed by Giri Krishna Kamal. The film, inspired by multiple real-life incidents, focuses on the dark side of social media.At a pre-release event, Varma shared his thoughts on the film. He revealed that he discovered actress Aradhya through a social media reel and was immediately struck by her screen presence. Similarly, Satya Yadu, a talented theatre actor, impressed him during auditions. The director expressed confidence that both leads, along with Kamal’s direction, have brought depth and authenticity to the script.
Actress Aradhya plays a “girl-next-door” character in the film. She noted that Saree highlights the dangers of social media, particularly for women. Meanwhile, Satya Yadu, originally from Uttar Pradesh, is making his big-screen debut. Having previously acted in television serials, he emphasized that both men and women can relate to the film’s theme of social media stalking.
The film also features actors Sahil Sambhyal, Appaji Ambarish, and Kalpalatha in important roles.
The film’s music is composed by Sashi Preetham, Keerthana Sesh, DSR Balaji, Siddarth Siddu, and Rakesh Panikela, with Anand handling the background score. Sabari is the cinematographer, while Giri Krishna Kamal and Perampally Rajesh are responsible for editing. Ravi Shankar Varma has produced the film under RGV Aarvi Productions LLP.
Saree is all set to hit theatres on April 4. With an intriguing theme and a strong cast, the film promises to be a gripping psychological thriller.
