Chennai witnessed a significant decline in gold prices on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The price of 22-carat gold fell by ā¹150 per gram, bringing it down to ā¹8,980. Consequently, the cost of one sovereign (8 grams) decreased by ā¹1,200, settling at ā¹71,840.This drop follows a period of relative stability, where gold prices remained unchanged at ā¹73,040 per sovereign on both June 5 and 6. Earlier in the week, prices had seen incremental increases: ā¹1,120 on Monday, ā¹160 on Tuesday, and ā¹80 on Wednesday.
Silver prices also experienced a decline. The rate per gram decreased by ā¹1, making it ā¹117, while the price per kilogram dropped by ā¹1,000, now standing at ā¹117,000.
